Cheswold, DE : 54-year-old Wilson Seeney killed as pickup truck hits house and burst into flames on Pearson's Corner Road on Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Delaware State Police say a pickup truck driver was killed when his vehicle crashed into a house in Cheswold and caught fire.

It happened about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on Pearson's Corner Road. Troopers say 54-year-old Wilson Seeney of Dover was speeding south when he encountered a curve.

Police say Seeney's truck went off the road and began to rotate, crossing both lanes. Officers say the truck hit some mailboxes and a telephone pole before crashing into a house.

Troopers say the truck caught fire, which also ignited the house. Authorities say Seeney was trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene.

Local firefighters extinguished the fire. Two residents in the house were not hurt.
