Davie, FL : 2 school buses crash in Florida in the eastbound lanes approaching the exit to University Drive in Davie on Friday, 3rd August 2018

Fourteen children and four adults had minor injuries after a crash Friday involving a school bus and three other vehicles on Interstate 595.

The crash happened about 9 a.m. in the eastbound lanes approaching the exit to University Drive in Davie. The school bus was towed from the scene by 11 a.m.

Surveillance video from a nearby business showed three cars colliding on the highway. One of the cars spun into the path of the school bus that could not stop in time.

Those who were hurt were taken to Westside Regional Hospital in Plantation and Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, said Davie Assistant Fire Chief Jorge Gonzalez.

The school bus involved in the crash was a World of Kids Transportation bus that was taking children on a summer camp trip, said Florida HIghway Patrol Lt. Alvaro Feola.

Because of the crash and investigation, there were extensive delays on eastbound I-595 stretching back toward Hiatus Road.

All eastbound lanes were fully reopened by 11 a.m.
