A 58-year-old Kissimmee man died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in northern Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Buenaventura Boulevard and Lakepointe Circle, just south of East Osceola Parkway and Orlando International Airport, FHP spokesman Sgt. Kim Montes said.
Walter Quijano was attempting to cross Buenaventura Boulevard, when he stepped “into the direct path” of a 2011 Ford Fusion, Montes said.
Emergency medical crews took him to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford, 39-year-old Lamont Lee or Orlando, wasn’t injured.
Troopers investigated the crash for several hours Tuesday night. No other details were released.
This was the second reported vehicle vs. pedestrian crash to happen Tuesday evening in the Orlando area. Another collision occurred around east of Orlando hours earlier, Montes said.
