Portland, OR : Pedestrian struck and killed in hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 near downtown Portland on Sunday evening, January 17, 2016

Portland Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed as he was trying to cross Interstate 5 south of downtown Portland.

It happened Sunday evening in the southbound lanes of the freeway.

Police say the man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. His identity has not been released.

The driver who struck the man remained at the scene.
