Monett, MO : Mt. Vernon man injured in single-vehicle wreck on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016

A Mt. Vernon man was injured in a wreck on Saturday at 7:20 p.m. on Farm Road 2090, two miles north of Mt. Vernon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Samuel Cotter, 35, of Mt. Vernon, was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram eastbound when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a metal pipe fence.

Cotter suffered moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

He was wearing a safety device, and damage to the vehicle was extensive.
