The boy was a passenger in a Dodge Journey driven by his mother Rebekah Dawn Seibert of McGregor, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. Rebekah Seibert's 5-year-old daughter Charlotte Josephine Chouinard also was killed in the crash.
The state patrol responded to the two-vehicle fatal crash at 6:57 p.m. May 8 on Highway 210 east of McGregor. Dawn Seibert was traveling west on Highway 210, when the Dodge skidded, slid sideways and ended up facing south in the eastbound lanes. A Ford truck was traveling east and "impacted the Dodge Journey" on the rear passenger side, the state patrol reported. Road conditions were reported to be wet at the time of the crash.
