Center Point, AL: Woman struck by vehicle in Center Point, died on scene on Wednesday, July 22nd 2015

Sarah Kay Rygiel, 27-years old of Chelsea, has been identified as the woman struck and killed early Wednesday morning in Center Point according to the Jefferson County Coroner.A woman was struck by a car at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday morning in Center Point.The accident occurred at the intersection of 24th Avenue North West and Sun Hill Road. A female pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle and died on the scene. The driver of the car stopped and contacted the sheriff’s office.The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office questioned witnesses on the scene. The name of the victim has yet to be released.The investigation is ongoing.
