WHEATLEY, AR : 1 person killed in crop duster crash in east Arkansas on Wednesday, 11th July 2018

The chief of an Arkansas fire department has died after his crop duster crashed in the eastern part of the state.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management says the crash happened Wednesday morning in a field north of Wheatley, about 70 miles (110 kilometers) east of Little Rock.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette cites St. Francis County Deputy Coroner Miles Kimble in identifying the pilot as 42-year-old Chad McLain, chief of the Wheatley Volunteer Fire Department.
