A two-vehicle wreck caused a rollover and sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries.

Robert Wood, 27, of Victoria, was headed south in a silver 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van in the outside lane of North Navarro Street when he disregarded a red light at the intersection with Zac Lentz Parkway, said Sgt. Jason Sager, with the Victoria Police Department. A black 2017 Ford Escape driven by Ashleigh Thurman, 18, of Dallas, T-boned the back of the van.

"He attempted to beat the red light when he was traveling south on Navarro," senior patrol officer Sam Garza said at the scene. "They already had the green light come on, and they had the right of way. He failed to use right of way from this red stop light."

The front of the Escape hit the left rear side of the van, causing it to swing clockwise. The van's back right tire hit the curb, causing it to roll.

Janette Rodriguez, 26, of Victoria, and a 1-year-old, both occupants in the van, were transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro with minor injuries.

"They had some abrasions and some minor cuts from broken glass," Sager said.

Two other children were passengers in the van, and one woman was a passenger in the Escape.
