San Juan Capistrano, California
A car crash in San Juan Capistrano Thursday night left three people and a dog dead, authorities said.
Around 7:50 p.m., a Ford Focus and Honda Accord collided head-on along Camino Capistrano near Avery Parkway, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Hallock said that it appeared that the cars were traveling in opposite directions, and that speed may have been a factor.

A dog in the Honda also died.
An man and a woman in their 20s that were in the back seat of the Honda were removed from the car using the Jaws of Life. They were taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with serious injuries.
