COLORADO CITY, CO : 1 killed in rollover crash near Colorado City on Monday, 9th August 2021

A driver was thrown from a truck and killed after flipping his vehicle off the interstate early Monday morning.

The driver was identified as a 35-year-old man from Denver. He was pronounced dead by rescue personnel who arrived on the scene.

According to State Patrol, the driver was on northbound I-25 headed in the direction of Pueblo when he lost control of his vehicle. There were no witnesses to the collision, but based on tire marks in the road, troopers believe the driver began to drift across the lane while navigating a right curve, and in response, tried steering to the right. That threw the truck into a clockwise spin, and the driver tried to steer left to correct himself as the truck began to travel off of the right side of the road. He was unable to right the vehicle, and the truck left the roadway and rolled over twice. He was ejected and was found dead in a ditch by first responders.
