1 killed, 2 injured in separate rush hour collisions

A cyclist is dead and two teenagers are in hospital following a series of separate rush hour accidents that occurred across Metro Vancouver Tuesday afternoon.
The cyclist, whose name and age have not been released, was struck by a semi-truck in Burnaby at Sprott Street and Norland Avenue, near the 8 Rinks Arena, shortly before 5 p.m.
He was rushed to hospital but went into cardiac arrest and died shortly after. The semi driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
In Port Coquitlam, a 15-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after an alleged hit-and-run near Mary Hill and Pitt River roads.
Mounties are searching for a suspect vehicle described as a black Ford F-150 with a black canopy. The driver is believed to be an older man with graying hair.
The third victim, a 13-year-old boy, was struck in Vancouver while crossing a pedestrian-controlled intersection at Cambie Street and 20th Avenue.
Police said the force of the collision sent the boy flying into a bus that was stopped nearby.
He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver remained at the scene.Delays are expected into Tuesday evening at the each of the crash scenes as police and traffic experts gather evidence.
