Richmond, VA : A man died after losing control of his motorcycle on Monday, July 3, 2017

A man died Monday after losing control of his motorcycle on an Orange County road.

Virginia State Police say Christopher W. Bruce, a 31-year-old from Springfield, was driving a 2001 Honda motorcycle northbound in the 14000 block of Cox Mill Road at about 6:15 p.m. when he lost control and ran off the roadway to the right and struck a fence.

Bruce, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene of the crash as the result of his injuries.

Police said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
