A man killed on Milwaukee's south side by a hit-and-run driver who later failed a field sobriety test was identified by the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office Monday as Anthony P. Orosco, 59, of Milwaukee.

Orosco was struck shortly before 9 p.m. Friday in the 2600 block of S. 13th St., according to Milwaukee police.

According to a medical examiner's report, Orosco was walking north on the east side of S. 13th St. when he J-walked in a northwesterly direction across 13th St.

While crossing the street, he was struck by a southbound pickup truck traveling at an "elevated" rate of speed, according to the report.

Orosco was then struck by a car, the driver of which followed the pickup until the truck was pulled over by Milwaukee police at S. 27th St. and W. Cleveland Ave., according to the report.

The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old Milwaukee man, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, according to police, who are expected to seek charges against the man.
