Norfolk, VA : North Carolina man dies in I-264 east crash on Tuesday, April 4, 2017

A man is dead after a truck overturned on Interstate 264 eastbound Tuesday near Greenwood Drive in Portsmouth, according to Virginia State Police.

James Scott Jones, 46, of Corapeake, N.C., was not wearing a seat belt and died on scene.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya, state police spokeswoman, said the crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. when Jones lost control of his vehicle, ran off the road, struck an exit sign and light pole and rolled over several times into a ditch.

Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, Anaya said.
