A driver was killed and two people injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Fitchburg, police said.

According to a news release from the Fitchburg Police Department, the crash was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. on County Highway MM between Irish Lane and Haight Farm Road.

The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and the injured were taken to a hospital, according to the release.
