An 18-year-old Creekside High School senior and a 16-year-old junior were killed early Saturday in a crash on Interstate 10 in Suwanee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Two students from Creekside High School in St. Johns County were killed in a Saturday morning crash on Interstate 10 near the Suwannee County line, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

In a letter to parents on Monday, assistant principal Linda Carnall confirmed “with heavy heart” that senior Jacob Llana, 18, and 16-year-old sophomore Aurelia St. Jean were killed.

The two teens were in a car headed west at 10:45 a.m. on the interstate near Adams Road when it started to drift left into the median, Investigators said. The 18-year-old driver overcorrected, then went off the highway on the right side and hit a tree, the report said.
