Santa Clara , CA : Two Children were hospitalized in several traffic collisions caused by Rain-slick roadways in Santa Clarita Valley on Sunday afternoon, November 30th 2014
Rain-slick roadways in and around the Santa Clarita Valley factored into several traffic collisions Sunday, including one in which two children were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, according to fire and law enforcement officials.
Most of the collisions, however, were minor, said California Highway Patrol Sgt. Perry Haggard.
“It’s been the normal rain-type stuff,” he said, describing highway traffic collisions. “Most of them have been fairly minor.”
Shortly before 3 p.m., paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a crash in the southbound lanes of Highway 14 at the Interstate 5 connection involving a white Nissan Altima in the fast lane, said Fire Department Supervisor Art Marrujo.
At least two children were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to the CHP. Their mother and one older sibling, who rode with them in the ambulance, suffered no reported injuries.
