DINWIDDIE COUNTY, VA : Fatal crash closes Interstate 85 in Virginia on Friday, 31st May 2024

Two people were killed and two other people were flown to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash closed Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.

"At approximately 7:45 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, Virginia State Police responded to a crash involving a tractor-trailer and five additional vehicles, southbound Interstate 85 at the 40.2-mile marker in Dinwiddie," a Virginia State Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "This crash is actively being investigated at this time and troopers are working to identify the victims and notify next of kin."
