Lubbock, TX : Abilene woman critically injured in crash with Lubbock officer vehicle Wednesday on August 13, 2014

An Abilene woman — a recent Wylie High School graduate — was critically injured after her car collided with a Lubbock police vehicle Wednesday. The Lubbock Police Department confirmed Thursday that Morgan Lee, 20, received life-threatening injuries after the crash at the intersection of Landmark Lane and Clovis Highway in Lubbock. Lee was southwest bound on Landmark, crossing Clovis, when her vehicle hit a marked police SUV headed southeast, according to a Lubbock PD investigation report. The police vehicle was driven by Officer Cody Kidd, who had moderate injuries, and the accident occurred in the intersection, which is controlled by a traffic signal. However, police have not indicated which driver may have been at fault. According to the report, officers located two independent, uninvolved witnesses who gave consistent versions of the incident. Police said that "until we have spoken to each witness we believe is out there, we are keeping that information private to not influence any future or other witnesses." Early Thursday afternoon, Lubbock PD Sgt. Jason Lewis couldn't confirm Lee's condition; "I haven't received official word." Source : Abilene woman critically injured in crash with Lubbock officer
