APPLE VALLEY, CA : Eastbound 18 closed, two airlifted in Apple Valley crash on Sunday, 16th February, 2020

The eastbound Highway 18 was closed Sunday after an accident involving a vehicle and dirt bike, with two people airlifted for emergency medical care, authorities say.

According to a statement from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Jodi Miller, the collision occurred at roughly 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Navajo Road and Highway 18. Both passengers of the dirt bike were located in the roadway when first response arrived and were airlifted down the hill for treatment of their injuries. Their current condition is unknown, Miller said.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and received treatment on site. The eastbound 18 was closed during the investigation, the statement said.

According to the Pulsepoint app, three fire engines, three ambulances and two air ambulances were deployed to the scene.
