Indianapolis,IN : Lohrville woman dies in crash on may, friday 12th 2017

A fatal head-on collision was just one of three serious traffic accidents that happened over the weekend in three counties.

The fatality happened Friday in Calhoun County, while one serious injury accident happened in Wright County on Saturday and the third was Sunday in Hamilton County.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating all three crashes.

Calhoun County

The fatal head-on collision happened near Twin Lakes Friday evening.

Deana Benchek, 44, of Lohrville, died in the crash.

The ISP said Benchek was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on Iowa Highway 4, north of U.S. Highway 20.

She crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semi tractor trailer, driven by Jamie Manwarren, 43, of Emmetsburg.

Bencheck was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was the only one in the Trailblazer, the ISP reported.

Hamilton County

Authorities on Monday released the names of the people involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident northwest of Webster City Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Nathan Reed, 18, of Webster City, and Nicole Sweazey, 18, of Duncombe, were in a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier that was westbound on 210th Street a half mile west of Fenton Avenue in Hamilton County.

The driver lost control on the gravel road, over-corrected and entered the north ditch, rolling multiple times.

Both Reed and Sweazey were ejected.

It is not known who was driving.

Reed and Sweazey were transported by Fort Dodge and Des Moines UnityPoint Health — LifeFlight to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines with life-threatening injuries, according to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Johnson.

Responders included the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, Iowa State Patrol, Webster City Police Department, Webster City Fire Department, Van Diest Medical Center and LifeFlight from Fort Dodge.

The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.

Reed and Sweazey are athletes and graduating seniors from Webster City High School.

According to school officials, counselors are available for students.

Wright County

A Webster City woman had to be airlifted to a Mason City hospital after getting into a rollover accident Saturday.

Lidia Sosa Rodriguez, 29, of Webster City, was eastbound on 150th Street, east of Renwick in Wright County, when she crossed the center line, over-corrected and rolled after going into the south ditch.

The ISP reported Rodriguez was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City with life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wright County Sheriff’s Department and Renwick Fire Department.
