Orlando, FL : College Park woman arrested in deadly hit-and-run crash on Sunday evening, November 9, 2014
Orlando police said they have made an arrest in a hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist Sunday evening thanks to tips from the suspect's neighbors.
Adriana Valenzuela, 27, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death and held on $10,000 bond.
Police said the victim, 44-year-old Steven Williams, was struck by Valenzuela's white SUV when Valenzuela switched lanes on North Orange Blossom Trail near the Country Club of Orlando just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
One witness said she saw the crash and never saw brake lights on the vehicle. She said Williams was sent flying into the air after the crash.
Valenzuela fled the scene, and Williams died from his injuries, police said.
A Crimeline tipster sent police to Valenzuela's address on Wilson Avenue, where there was a Hyundai Santa Fe with front-end damage and a flat tire inside of a garage.
