Vernon crash leads to six hour road closure
County Route 515 was closed for about six hours Thursday morning due to a single-car motor vehicle accident.Shortly after 6 a.m. a 2010 Jeep Wrangler struck a telephone pole on the southbound side of County Route 515, downing the pole and lines, according to Sergeant Dan Young of the Vernon Police Department.
Vernon Police closed down the road in both directions.The female driver was taken to Newton Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
A crew from Jersey Central Power and Light was able to replace the downed pole and Vernon Police reopened the road around 12:30 p.m.
Sgt. Young said the crash is under investigation and that police are talking to individuals who witnessed the crash.
