Charlotte ,NC : 16 Months old baby killed in Crash and his uncle charged after lost control of his car and hit a tree on Sunday morning ,March 15th 2015

A car crash in west Charlotte turned fatal after a 16-month-old died in the hospital Sunday, according to police.

Around 6 a.m. Saturday, Darius Roseborough was driving a Chevy Impala, on Josh Birmingham Parkway from the airport with his 16-month-old nephew in the car, according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.

Roseborough reportedly lost control of the car, slid off the left side of the road, and hit a tree.

At the time of the crash, police say it was dark and raining.

Both were reportedly taken to the hospital, Roseborough with minor injuries, Logan in critical condition.

Police say Logan was seated in a proper child restraint seat.

Logan was reportedly pronounced dead on Sunday due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Monday, Darius Roseborough was served with warrants for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and no operator's license and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
