PALOMA, IL : A Camp Point woman was involved in a crash on April, Sunday 30th 2017

A Camp Point woman was involved in a Sunday night crash east of Paloma.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department reports a 2005 Cadillac driven by Leah R. Parks, 19, of Camp Point, was eastbound on U.S. 24 at 7:23 p.m. when she attempted to pass another vehicle. The department said while passing the vehicle, the driver lost control on the wet pavement, left the south side of the highway and struck a ditch causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest on its wheels.

Parks, who was wearing a seat belt, exited the vehicle and refused treatment by ambulance personnel.

Parks was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The department was assisted by Central Adams Fire Department and Adams County Ambulance.
