High speed chase leads to fatal crash

A Boonville man was killed Saturday morning after leading Boonville police on a high speed chase.

Police were chasing 66-year-old Clyde Tobel along Old U.S. Hwy. 40 near the intersection of Missouri Hwy. 41 when Tobel drove off the road and hit a guardrail, sending the car into the air to hit a fence and telephone pole.

Tobel was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
