WYTHE COUNTY, VA : Drivers hospitalized after fiery tractor-trailer crash on Tuesday, 16th April 2024

Two people are hospitalized after a crash involving two tractor-trailers in Wythe County Monday.

According to Virginia State Police, the accident occurred at the interchange of I-81 northbound and I-77 at 9:50 p.m.

Police say a tractor-trailer was parked in the emergency lane but was partially in the right lane of I-81. The vehicle was then pushed into the guardrail after being rear-ended by the driver of another tractor-trailer.

The impact of the crash resulted in both tractor-trailers catching fire, according to police.
