OROVILLE, CA : Crash in Oroville leaves 1 dead on Monday, 17th June 2024

A 90-year-old woman from Oroville died in a crash Monday morning, the CHP said.

Around 11 a.m., the woman was driving her 2007 Honda CRV eastbound on Oro Dam Boulevard East, east of Rusty Dusty Road. For an unknown reason, the woman allowed her vehicle to drift into the oncoming lanes of traffic several times, the CHP said.

After drifting into the westbound lanes multiple times, the CHP said she drifted across the entire westbound lane and onto the north shoulder of Oro Dam Boulevard East.

The woman’s vehicle traveled a short distance along the gravel shoulder of Oro Dam Boulevard East, before colliding with a tree along the north roadway edge.

The CHP said the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its wheels. The woman died at the scene.
