WHEATON-GLENMONT, MD : Driver fleeing traffic stop causes deadly Wheaton crash on Wednesday, 13th December 2023

Police say a driver fleeing a traffic stop caused a three-vehicle crash in Wheaton that left one person dead. Four others were hurt in the collision

Investigators say the crash was first reported around 10:15 p.m. on northbound Georgia Avenue at Weisman Road. According to Montgomery County Police, officers were trying to stop a driver after they struck a marked police cruiser and took off from a traffic stop. The driver, in a white Nissan Maxima, crashed into a Toyota Corolla, and then struck a Honda Pilot at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Henderson Avenue.
