Hempstead County, AR : South Arkansas wreck claims driver, injures 2 more on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2020

A Wednesday accident in Hempstead County has claimed the life of a driver and injured two others.
Richard B. Hooks, 42, of Hope, was killed at while traveling Eastbound on Hwy. 174 in Hope, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report. The 9:56 a.m. incident occurred when Hooks’ 2010 Honda Civic crossed left of the center line and collided with a 2017 Ford F-150 carrying 61-year-old John K. Rutledge, the driver, and 64-year-old Shirley Rutledge. The report did not specify the extent of the couple’s injuries, but noted that they were taken to a nearby Wadley hospital.
The road conditions were clear and the weather was dry, according to the report. The deceased was taken to Brazzell Oak Memorial Funeral Home, according to Trp. Antonio May’s report.
