FORT WALTON BEACH, FL : Bicyclist seriously injured in crash on Tuesday, 6th November 2018

A 56-year-old man was seriously injured Monday after he was hit while trying to cross Hurlburt Road on his bicycle.
Barry Todd Banfield of Fort Walton Beach was traveling south on his bike from the parking lot of a business at 4 p.m. when he crossed the path of a Kia Sorento near the intersection of Hawkins Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Kia was driven by 56-year-old Deborah Lee Long of Fort Walton Beach, an FHP press release said.
Banfield was taken to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Long and a passenger in her car were were not injured.
The FHP is investigating the crash.
