Greenville, SC : Upstate woman injured from rocks crashing into car on Interstate 385 October 19th 2016

A typical drive home from work took a dangerous turn. An Upstate woman said two rocks came crashing into her car. It happened on Interstate 385 South, right near the Interstate 85 interchange.
"There was glass everywhere, there was blood everywhere, I looked down and there was a big rock in my lap and my whole driver's side window had been smashed in. I honestly didn't know what had happened," Angela Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh showed FOX Carolina her car. The driver's side window is shattered out and the side paneling of her car is damaged. Her husband Matt Limbaugh said several EMS workers had to pull the driver's door free to get her out of the car.
"It hit me so fast and so hard, I was just in shock," Limbaugh said. Her husband rushed to the scene and got there around the time first responders arrived.
"When I got there she still pretty upset, blood everywhere, the bigger rock was still sitting on her lap," Matt Limbaugh said.
The smaller rock, she said, hit the front of her windshield and shattered a section of it. She shared her injuries, bruises are covering her arms and legs, she said she has a hairline fracture in her jaw.
"I have a slight concussion and I have slight bleeding of the brain," Angela Limbaugh said. "I went through a CAT scan Thursday night and it showed a little bit of blood on the brain."
Angela's ride home from work late last week has left her stunned and wanting answers about driver's safety around construction sites.
"If it did come from the construction site, I think some serious thought needs to be put into putting some protective nets around them or something where all of these people are," she said.
Angela said given where the rock hit, she said she feels blessed to be alive.
"EMS and the firemen told me that had it not hit the side of the car first it would've killed me," she said. "There's no doubt in their mind that it would've killed me, it hit that hard.
