Enid, OK : Three vehicles were involved in a collision a Oxford and Van Buren Thursday on June 26, 2014
An 82-year-old Wakita woman died of injuries suffered Thursday evening in a three-vehicle collision at Van Buren and Oxford.
Enid Police Department Capt. Jack Morris said at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the Enid Garfield/Major County 911 Center received a call in reference to an injury accident involving three vehicles at the intersection.
“On arrival, emergency responders determined that an elderly female, who was the passenger in a blue 1998 Buick Regal, driven by her husband, was seriously injured and unresponsive,” Morris said.
The woman later was identified as Barbara Ann Morgan. Morgan was transported to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center and pronounced dead at 6:14 p.m.
EPD accident investigators determined the Buick Regal, driven by Morgan’s husband, William Morgan III, 80, was eastbound on Oxford and attempting to cross Van Buren, when their car was struck in the passenger door by a 2006 Ford F250 pickup, driven by Cary Hays, 46, of Kingfisher.
After the two vehicles collided, the Buick spun and struck a 2013 Honda CRV, driven by Shelby Hayes, 30, of Enid, that was stopped at a stop sign at Oxford.
The collision remains under investigation. Information will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed, Morris said. No citations were issued at the scene.
