Ozaukee County, WI : Driver left after causing rollover crash along Interstate 43 on Tuesday morning September 16th 2014
Port Washington, Wisconsin
Investigators in Ozaukee County need help identifying a man who may have caused a rollover crash Tuesday morning.
Lt. Christy Knowles said a man who may have tried to change lanes on Interstate 43 near Lakefield Road caused another driver to take evasive action and crash.
"As he came over the center line, she took evasive action and then ended up hitting a guard rail and the vehicle ended up rolling," she said.
The story takes a strange twist after witnesses said the man pulled over and stepped out of his car, and then got back in and drove off.
Witnesses said he was a white man wearing a baseball hat and had tattoos on his arms. He was driving a black Ford Explorer that police believe should have damage to the driver's side, including silver paint from the car he struck.
Knowles said that by leaving the scene, the man could face hit-and-run charges.
The 43-year-old woman from Manitowoc was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
