Orlando , FL : 57 Years old Pedestrian was killed Three vehicles struck While Crossing the Street on Tusday night, december 9th 2014
Three vehicles struck a man who was crossing the street in Orange County on Tuesday night, and the drivers kept going, troopers said.
Carlos Tuberquia Perez, 57, of Orlando, was pushing a shopping cart and was not in a crosswalk when he was struck crossing West Colonial and Homefolks drives about 7:45 p.m. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died.
According to troopers, Perez was first hit by an SUV. A pickup truck then struck the shopping cart, and another pickup truck ran Perez over.
"I can't recall the last time we had every vehicle leave the scene of crash. Total disregard for life, total disregard for the law," said FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.
A witness got the tag number of one of the vehicles, and authorities were able to track down the suspected driver, 36-year-old Carolin Gordon, of Orlando. A blood alcohol test is pending.
"You don't expect somebody to drive away when something like this happens," said Oscar Tuberquia, the victim's nephew. "You're not just hitting a pole on the side of the road."
