A bicyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Racetrack Road and Patio Street.
The 61-year-old man was peddling west on Racetrack about 3:50 p.m. when a 2000 Ford pickup struck him and fled the scene, according to Fort Walton Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jo Soria.
The cyclist was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment.
Okaloosa County sheriff's deputies pulled over the pickup a short time later on Eglin Parkway near Ninth Avenue in Shalimar.
"The suspect has been charged with several charges, including leaving a scene of a crash with injuries and having a suspended license." Soria said.
The driver was not immediately identified.
