Tuscaloosa, AL : 8-year-old Georgia child died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20/59 on Thursday afternoon July 24th 2014

A child from Georgia died in a single-vehicle crash, which happened just south of Tuscaloosa.

The Alabama State Troopers report the wreck happened about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 20/59 northbound, near mile marker 65.

That’s 11 miles south of Tuscaloosa.

A total of 9 people were inside a Dodge Ram pickup truck, which left the roadway and overturned.

The child is identified as Anthony Jones, 8, of Fairburn, Georgia.

Jones was a passenger inside the cab of the truck, and was not using a seat belt.

The child was ejected from the vehicle.

The other eight occupants, including the driver, were injured and transported to DCH in Tuscaloosa.
