MONTGOMERY COUNTY, IN : Teacher among 2 who died in car crash on Friday, March 3rd 2017
Two people died in a car accident Friday afternoon, according to a news release from North Montgomery Community Schools.
The crash happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Indiana 32 near County Road 775 East, the release stated. While heading west, Sean A. York, 23, hit James Switzer, 53, and Sharon Switzer, 48, of Crawfordsville, head-on after crossing over into east-bound traffic, according to the release.
York, of New Market, died at the scene, the release stated. Sharon Switzer, a Northridge Middle School math teacher, was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Hospital, according to the release.
James Switzer was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, the release stated.
According to the release, police don't yet know if drugs or alcohol were part of the crash, which is still under investigation.
Counselors will be available Monday for students and staff at the school, according to the release.
