WAKE FOREST, NC : Vehicle crash closes NC-96 in Wake Forest on Thursday, 22nd June 2023

On Thursday morning a man, woman and two dogs were killed after colliding with a tractor-trailer on NC-96 near Wake Forest, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Around 9:11 a.m., the State Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle crash on NC-96 near Fowler Road in Wake County.
An investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was traveling south on NC-96 and a tractor-trailer was traveling north.
According to the highway patrol, the Tahoe lost control, crossed the center lane and crashed into the tractor-trailer. The occupants of the Tahoe were ejected from the vehicle as it overturned.
The driver and passenger of the Tahoe were killed in the crash. They were not wearing seatbelts, according to Highway Patrol. The driver of the tractor-trailer had minor injuries and was treated by EMS on scene.
