ELBERTA, AL : Vehicle collision shuts down Highway 98 in Elberta on Sunday, September 24th 2017

A vehicle collision in Elberta shut down a section of Highway 98 near Old Foley Road shortly after 7 p.m..

According to Elberta Fire Department, eastbound traffic is being diverted down Old Foley Road and westbound traffic is being turned around at the Elberta VFW.

Investigators say two cars collided head-on trapping both drivers. They were taken to the hospital. There is no word yet on their conditions.

The scene has been cleared and Highway 98 is back open.
