CHARLOTTE, NC : Police ID man struck, killed by two vehicles in east Charlotte on Wednesday, 5th October 2016

One person is dead after they were reportedly struck by two vehicles in east Charlotte.

It happened around 11:40 Wednesday morning along Albemarle and Reddman roads, near the intersection with Central Avenue. Police said 33-year-old Dennis Junior Dortch was seen running south on Reddman Rd when he went into the intersection with Albemarle Rd.

Dortch was then struck by a vehicle, then another coming the opposite direction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said people stopped and attempted to give Dortch CPR after the incident. Police said the drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene as well.

Investigators said alcohol, drugs and speed were not factors in the crash, and that neither of the drivers or their passengers were injured.

One driver was issued with driving while their license was revoked and having an expired registration.
