Tulsa, OK : 56-year-old Georgia man pronounced dead after IDL crash on the Inner Dispersal Loop on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016
A Georgia truck driver was pronounced dead after a wreck Tuesday morning on the Inner Dispersal Loop.
Martin Leonard Kennedy, 56, was driving a 2012 Freightliner at the southwest corner of the IDL when he lost consciousness and entered another lane of westbound traffic on the Broken Arrow Expressway about 9:30 a.m., according to the report.
Kennedy’s truck struck a 2010 Ford van that was in the expressway’s inside westbound lane, and the truck came to a stop on Interstate 244’s southbound inside shoulder, the report says.
The van’s driver, 32-year-old Christopher Jones of Tulsa, reportedly was uninjured.
Kennedy, who is from Columbus, Georgia, was taken to the nearby Oklahoma State University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The cause of the collision, as well as the driver’s condition before the crash and cause of death, are still under investigation, the report states.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the OHP reported.
