FOWLER, OH : Woman injured, car submerged in crash on Wednesday, February 15th 2017

After a car drove off state Route 11 and landed in a creek just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fowler, a Chardon woman was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with serious injuries, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Linda M. Payne, 58, was driving Mazda when it was partially submerged in the creek running under the highway, according to the patrol. Her injuries are not life-threatening and she was wearing a seatbelt, according to a patrol news release.

The car went off the left side of the southbound lane and struck a culvert. The patrol is investigating.
