Venice, FL : Minor injuries in Venice school bus accident on Thursday, 27th October, 2016
A car ran into the back of a school bus Thursday afternoon, causing minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway patrol.
According to reports, the accident occurred as a car driven by Daniel Angeles Lopez, 18, of Venice was proceeding east on Venice Avenue, west of River Road. Lopez failed to notice that a bus, driven by Rhonda Lynn Snyder, 47, of Venice, was stopped and ran into the back of it.
There were eight students on the bus at the time. Three of them suffered minor injuries and were transported to Venice Hospital.
Neither Daniel Lopez; Valentina Angeles Lopez, 7, a passenger in his car; Snyder; nor Margie Dong, 64, a passenger on the bus, were injured in the accident.
Daniel Lopez was charged with careless driving, a learner’s license violation and with having a passenger under 18 not wearing a seat belt.
