Flint, MI : Man dies after vehicle crashes into vacant Flint home on Saturday, November 12, 2016

A man is dead after the vehicle he was driving struck a home that caught fire on Flint's far north side, according to police.

Flint firefighters were called out around 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 for a house fire at the intersection of Carpenter Road and Cranwood Drive and discovered a vehicle had gone into the home.

The man was later found deceased upon a search of the home and vehicle by firefighters.

A Flint police traffic reconstruction team and the department's Crime Scene Investigation unit have responded to the scene, along with the Michigan State Police fire investigator.

There was no word on the victim's name or what may have led to the crash. Officers have blocked off Carpenter Road, between Dupont Street and Daryll Drive, as the investigation continues.
