Owyhee County, ID : Driver dies after crash in car chase with ISP on Thursday, 15th August 2019

A man who police say led them on multiple car chases died Thursday night after a police pursuit in Owyhee County.

Daniel Abel, 35, of Owyhee, Nevada, had been wanted by officers from the Bureau of Indian Affairs even before he crossed the Idaho state line Thursday, according to a news release from the Idaho State Police.

Bureau officers said he led them on multiple high-speed car chases earlier in the evening in a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup. Those chases began after multiple people called police and reported Abel as driving in an erratic manner and almost causing crashes in Nevada. Bureau officers warned Idaho State Police troopers Abel would likely be impaired, according to the release.
