Florence, S.C : Driver injured after car crashes into pond on FDTC campus early Monday morning, January 30, 2017
A woman was transported to a Florence area hospital after her vehicle went off of the roadway and into a pond on the Florence-Darlington Technical College campus early Monday morning.
The West Florence Fire Department responded to the single-vehicle crash just after 4 a.m., according to Captain Anthony Fox. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a vehicle fully submerged with the female on top of the car.
West Florence firefighters and officers from the Florence Police Department entered the water and rescued the woman, Fox said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
