Richland County, SC : 29-year-old Sean Wooten of Gilbert died in a crash on Leesburg Road on Friday morning, December 2, 2016
The Richland County Coroner has identified the victim in a Friday morning collision on Leesburg Road in Richland County.
The coroner said 29-year-old Sean Wooten of Gilbert died after being transported from the scene of the collision to a local hospital. Autopsy results, according to the coroner, indicate Wooten's cause of death to be blunt force trauma.
The collision happened just after 8:30 a.m. Friday morning at the intersection of Leesburg Road and Congress Road. Troopers with SCHP say a vehicle traveling north on Congress Road attempted to make a right turn onto Leesburg Road and was hit on the driver’s side by a car traveling on Leesburg Road. After being hit, the car went off the right side of the roadway and overturned in a ditch.
Wooten was the driver of the overturned vehicle.
The other driver was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time.
SCHP continues to investigate the collision.
