Ames, IA : A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, June 13, 2017

A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Tuesday in the central valley.
He was Brian Christopher Stoddard of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner’s office said Wednesday. He was 33.He died at the scene, police said.
The woman driving the sedan was not hurt and didn’t appear impaired. She stayed at the scene and was cooperative, Sgt. Paul McCullough said.
Witness accounts and preliminary evidence indicated the motorcyclist was driving fast before the crash, McCullough said.
This is the 63rd fatal crash investigated by Metro this year.
Sahara Avenue was closed both directions between Jones Boulevard and Lindell Road while police investigated.

The crash happened about 11:20 p.m. on eastbound West Sahara Avenue at Duneville Street, east of Jones Boulevard, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. A Nissan had attempted a lane change when the motorcycle overturned on its right side. Stoddard was ejected and collided with the car.
